Oh dear. For the first time this season we have West Devon's finest refereeing us, Lee Swabey.

Hi - random questions please that I would be very grateful for some help with. I will be driving up from Truro and staying overnight in the Premier Inn in / near Southernhay. That Premier Inn does not have parking but is not too far from a number of car parks such as the one at the top of the Quay. Firstly, does anyone know if that car park is currently open? I ask as a message dating to March of 2020 on their website refers to some renovations being needed but does not say whether they have now been completed. Secondly, does anyone know of a proper long stay city centre car park? I ask because from what I can see it would be relatively easy for me to be able to pay for an overnight stay in a variety of car parks (such as the Magdalene Road one I usually use for games) but the parking is generally only valid until 8.00AM. I do not particularly want to be setting an alarm to get up early to sort out more parking if there is any nearby car park at all that would instead simply let me pay until say 11.00AM.

Thanks for any help that can be provided. The reds are going up!

I’m not familiar with Exeter’s Car Parks specifically but do use various ones in different towns and cities when I’m travelling around the country.
The main thing I’ve learnt is that they all seem to operate slightly different systems.
For example I was in Bury last Friday and that was the first time I’ve had to swipe my credit card to lift the barrier to even get in!
If you‘re not keen to get up too early try and find one where they don’t charge beyond a certain time in the evening. Those then quite often allow you to pay for a few hours beyond that cut off time then add that time onto the following morning, thus providing a convenient lie in.
It might be possible to do something similar in some of the ones that charge for an overnight stay as well.
I wouldn’t want you to get the impression that Car Parks are a specialist subject of mine but I find Parkopedia gives a helpful summary of what’s available in a specific areas, with an idea of times, prices and how you need to pay in each one.

Do it on the parking app and you can extend your ticket from the comfort of your bed.

Am I the only one who is not interested in the title? If we win tomorrow night I’ll be too busy celebrating to worry about our chances of catching Forest Green.

Promotion is the BIG, BIG prize…the Title would be the icing on the cake.
