here's a starter.

Every supermarket should charge £1 for the use of their trolley's by the obese, free trolley's are left scattered around the supermarket car parks, by the ones that need the exercise most, yes the obese, can't be arsed to walk that extra 20 paces, to return their trolley, to the bay!

main course

Make the obese walk to the supermarket, on arrival restrict them to 1 small trolley, if they need a mobility scooter just because of their weight, then 1 basket only, & strictly no access to sweet counters/chillers or freezers, ensure they return the used facility, to the correct area.

Sweet

Restrict them to purchases of healthy foods only, put the shelves/counters & freezers on wheels, as they approach wisk them away to another part of the store, do this a dozen times before they can get hold of the goods to put in their trolley/basket, equip these obese trolley's/baskets with an electric shock system, any pastry's/sweets etc placed into trolley/basket it envokes a shock, any items already in trolley/basket will be taken away by the stores fatsquad, so they have to go and get them again.

Look people, this issue is not to be taken lightly. Should this man receive the medical help he needs free of charge or should the fat person have to pay for his treatment? Indeed, should those who stuff themselves full of coffee cake and the such be made to exercise?

Obesity treatment should not be on the NHS, no, unless there is a proper genuine reason why the obesity is not self-inflicted.

People shouldn't be "made" to exercise, tho'. It's up to them, and of course like with smoking, the VAT on unhealthy foods means they are contributing to the exchequer through a) the purchases and b) the shortened life meaning less pension payout.

Some very good points there GIE and I certainly agree with the electric shock treatment. However, I feel that you do not go far enough in the extent of the operation. The doors of restaurants, and indeed any purveyor of food, should be narrowed with the effect being that the big-boned cannot get through them.

As with those hoop things that buzz when they come into contact with the squiggly metal thingy at fairs and the such, doors should be equipped with electric circuitary that gives the fat invader a few thousand volts up his jacksey.

Other means could be public shaming, i.e. being thrown into stocks in the High Street so that normal people could laugh at them.

Or should we save the 200k a time spent on skinny fecks from sub Saharan Africe who come here to get their AIDS treatment despite never paying a penny and spend it a 10k a time on fat f*cks who spent a lifetime paying in to the system ?

ps. The rest of this thread was so depressing I had to go get half a pack of malted milk biccys cos the cake was just not enough.
