As well as controlling cash income it is imperative that an auditor ensures that expenditure is spent wisely.
How would an auditor know this? Presumably he wouldn't know better than the manager which players were any good, nor which players might potentially be any good and a good investment for the future. He also wouldn't know pretty much anything (I imagine) about the value to the team of staying overnight for away games, equipment purchases (the recently bought GPS trackers, for instance), the new 3G pitch or backroom staff involved with the playing side (coaches, physios, dieticians etc).

This isn't a sleight on auditors BTW, just a question as to how could they possibly know that expenditure was being spent wisely, especially regarding playing budgets.

Tisdale should be accountable for his results and the performances his side produces in entertainment terms. He should not have to explain each footballing decision he makes along the way. I'm not surprised about Troy - we have seen Tisdale do this numerous times before with injury prone players that most Clubs would be unlikely to give a contract to. It feeds into his narrative of us having no money, woe betide us etc.

That all said you would hope that Troy will have to pass a medical prior to the signing of any contract as you would expect at any well-run professional football club.

The Trust might own the Club but it does not act like an owner. It is not party to any major decision making. Too often it is dictated to by the Club Board. It should be performing a wider audit function in knowing precisely what is going on at any time, what is the likely cost and what potential contingent liabilities would or could arise from actions taken without its knowledge.

The Trust must always know the financial state of the Club so that if the Club once again “takes its eyes off the ball” it should not come as a surprise. It should always have value for money in mind in every aspect of its business. This is particularly relevant to the limited resources of a Trust owned Club.

Far away across the field
For all we know the remit given to Tis could be as simple/difficult as "Keep us in the League"

Everyone is assuming TAH has been offered a 12 month deal. How do we know it's not 3 months only? Don't recall a any info on the length of contract.

For Troy see Ben Watson, Neil Saunders etc. Look forward to the defences of Neil Saunders and how he had showed great promise bla bla bla.

Does anyone know if RW has ever said anything positive about the trust, the board or the management? Just wondering like.

Doubt he would get a 3 month deal during the close season! Whatever the length it is a waste of resources.

Who for example on here would give TAH another contract?
Well, as none of us spend all week at the training ground, I'd say we're not in a position to make that decision.

Results, yes. As others have said, he should be given a clear and realistic target each season.

Entertainment however can't be quantified, so I don't think that could possibly be implemented.
