So here's the list of ECFC academy graduates *League* appearances in 2020-2021 season . Coming on as a sub in brackets. Any more that I have missed?

Premiership. Watkins 37(0) Ampadu 23(2) Total 60 (2)

Championship. Grimes 48(0) Storey 27(3) Friend 21(5) Total 96(8)

League One. Pym 40(0) Goss 14(6) Hargreaves 3(10) Total 57(16)

League Two. Collins 46(0) Jay 43(1) Key 36(7) Sparkes 27(15) Randall 26(4) Hartridge 20(9) Seymour 8(25)
(ECFC only). Dean 2(0) Kite 1(3) Dyer 0(1)

League Two. Nichols 42(1) Sercombe 35(3) Bennett 32(6) Reid 31(8) JMT 28(1) Ellis 5(1) League Two overall total 382(85)
(non ECFC)

Grand total. 595 (111)

There also National League Moxey 21(2) (so far with two games max to play) and Ellis 19(0)
Ok, so the last time the Academy Productivity ranking were created/published was the 17/18 season, available here: https://trainingground.guru/articles/academy-productivity-rankings-2017/18 In essence points are awarded for graduate products who make appearances within the season. Each player who makes an appearance for a PL scores 5 points. You get 4 points for playing in the Champ, 3 points in L1, 2 points in L2 and 1 point in the National League.

In the 17/18 season, our players racked up a total of 38 points, placing us in 50th position.

Using the same formula and the info supplied by Andrew above, I calculate that this season we would have scored 65 points. Clearly other teams scores will have also changed but that would have ranked us 38 in 17/18.

Well lots of things to be proud about this summer, including 6 academy products in what looked like City's preferred starting line up before injuries and the £1.2m sale of Joel Randall. The fourth million pound plus sale of an academy product since the start of 2015.

The Championship is now awash with City academy graduates...six so far on Championship team sheets this season-

...Grimes,Pym and Storey starting every game so far. Randall one league start and a sub appearance. Friend an unused sub in the league, but played in the League Cup win for a side yet to concede a goal. And Jay Stansfield on Fulham's bench last night.

It is wonderful. We never seemed to have anything like this in the 80s. Chris Vinnicombe to Rangers would probably be my earliest memory of a youth product making us money. We now just need to see the benefit to the first team please!

Martin Ling, Mark Robson and Nicky Marker were all products of the 80's who made us and money and went onto bigger and better things (Nicky Marker was part of the Blackburn squad that won the Premier League iirc).

Given the resources at his disposal (virtually none) Mike Radford was a miracle worker

I always tend to link Scotty with the beginning of the 90's although of course you're right as he joined the club (as a pro) 87/88 I think.

I think Joel came off the bench in Peterborough's first game as well so should have two sub appearances.
