At the same time that they have excluded our academy prospects from their precious "U23/U21" Premiership Cup?

Hypocrisy rules ok! 😠
Or is it that we haven't actually got an U21 team to compete considering they released most if them last season! If we put a team in it would be predominantly U18.

Matt Taylor made it clear in one of his interviews last week that we still wanted to enter a team in this competition.

To be fair he's not going to come out and say we haven't bothered to enter it! Will be interesting to see if them lot down the road who we normally have a preliminary game to qualify against are in it?

According to Matt Hughes of the Daily Mail PL clubs have finally agreed to a new EFL funding package, titled a New Deal for Football. One of the proposals, which may result in an increase in cash payments to clubs, is 'asking EFL sides to use more homegrown players in the hope of giving extra game-time to academy products'. And two games in how many minutes ( my mistake, hours) have ECFC Academy players played?
I worry that what is being proposed is B teams by the back door. Each lower league tables will be told to take a significant number of Premier League youngsters.

Cant wait for the day we field a team of pure academy products. It's getting closer!
