I think Amps had a good tournament. He was probably the man of the watch against USA (though predictably Bale got all the attention), and was then asked to play all over the place. I didn't think he let them down and suspect he will be one of the first names on the team sheet in the next campaign.
BBC ratings for Ampadu in the 3 matches ranked him 2nd, 4th and 3rd while Bale was ranked last against England. Hope Ethan gets a settled club next season

He played for the club that finished bottom of Serie A last season.

His current club in Serie A are 17th.

He is already playing at low Championship level/standard.

FWIW, Spezia are six points clear of the Serie A relegation zone and making a decent fist of it thus far this season. That aside, not sure how taking on sides such as Napoli, Milan, Juventus, Lazio and Inter every other week equates to playing at low Championship level / standard.

As an example, Spezia's average crowd of 8000 is lower than any Premier league or Championship side.

About equivalent to mid table L1 crowd such as Oxford or Port Vale.

Ampadu has played 10 games in Serie A this season including games at AC Milan (71,000), Lazio (42,000) & Napoli (33,000). Still to visit Inter Milan, AS Roma, Atalanta, Udinese, Fioretino & others but you think he’d be better off playing against Blackpool, Wigan & Huddersfield?

He certainly didn't shine in a very poor Welsh side.
He's a defensive midfielder in a poor side; perhaps you could explain what, exactly, you're expecting him to do... beat half a dozen players and slam one in from 30 yards perhaps?!

It's the nature of the role that you're not necessarily going to get a load of plaudits – think Declan Rice for England – but almost all the pundits I've heard have mentioned Ampadu as one of Wales' stand-out players.

What does former Wales and Everon captain Ashley Williams know?!
The positive thing there is that we have some good young players, and they all have a lot of caps already.

I am talking about Ethan Ampadu, Harry Wilson, Dan James, Joe Rodon and Brennan Johnson, most of whom have got 40-odd caps as well as experience of at least one major finals too.

I was really impressed by Ampadu's performances in Qatar, he is going to be a very important player for us in the next few years.

It is tough for him because his versatility is so useful for us, but him being able to play in so many positions means he has not nailed down one. That might change if Page decides on a settled formation when he implements his plan.
