Gary Warren might not have made much of an impact on the first team pitch but he was excellent with Dyer and Hartridge in the u23 and Trophy games he played. Hopefully Alfie will get some of that benefit at Tivvy.
Plus, although he only came on as a second half sub, he scored a brilliant late header to win a Under 23 PL Cup match against Doncaster in November 2019.
As you said, both Jordan Dyer and Alex Hartridge were in the team that evening.

Am surprised it's only a short-term loan but it's a good level for a player that young to be playing at so it definitely seems like he's being fast tracked.

Yes, puzzling isn't it? Everything else by way of loan announced as a season long/6 month loan rather than this very woolly 'short term' wording. Anyone know if there is any technical reason (u18?) or can speculate as to the reasoning? (Tivvy have a very short term need? City think he might be needed in the first team squad? City want to keep their options open?)

We clearly have high expectations for Pond but you'd think Dyer and Diabate would still be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I think they have a few injury worries in defence, Woody missed the last game so Neil Martin had to play LB, which leaves them short of cover at CB as Martin covers that position as well.
