A blessing in disguise that we failed to get promoted

I don't think the blessing was in the least bit disguised. We weren't ready for L1, simple as that
When have we been though? We had a team of mostly Conference players on 2009, managed to stay up and follow up with our joint best season.

I always like to use Wycombe as our yardstick, similar crowds to ours, one difference is they don't have a rookie manager. Ainsworth has always been a man I have admired, I feel he is overlooked for better jobs because they don't play sexy football. Sure, they have got knocked down before, but he gets them bouncing back and they keep punching above their weight.
Ainsworth close to joining Wilder as one of Tisdale's peers who actually adapted their methods and became better managers for it.

I don't see how anyone can say we weren't ready for L1 when we don't know which players we will have then and which players the other teams will have and then how it will pan out. It's a complete nonsense.

Sheff U fans would be thinking last season that they may not be ready for the Prem but look what happened. Nobody knows how we will do until we are there and doing it.

I'd rather be there and doing it than in league 2 again trying to get there.

As Curtis Mayfield sang :

"Do not obey, you must keep your say
You can past the test
Just move on up, to a greater day
With just a little faith
If you put your mind to it you can surely do it
Just move on up"

Was he in any way connected with the almost legendary Teresa May Field?

👍
Yes. One of his hits was "Among the fields of wheat".
He is also half-brother to Dermot Curtis Mayscore.

Oh dear Mike.
That must be one of your corniest efforts yet!
(Or was it just intended as a rye comment?)

He was doing alright but he spelt Mayscore incorrectly.

Not too sure there Banksy?
I'm sure that was how it was spelt on my old vinyl copy from Harvest Records.
