Yes its 22 years tomorrow.I think the authorities and the police learnt there massive mistakes on that day.
Sadly to late for 96 Liverpool fans.Thankfully nothing like that has happened since.

Indeed a very tough day for the families but the trial has run its course, all the evidence and argument has been set out and the jury has delivered a verdict. Hard to believe any further charges will be brought now or that new and compelling evidence can be presented to the Court of Appeal to quash the acquittal and order yet another trial

The decision of the trial jury differs markedly from the inquest jury based presumably on the same evidence so the families are understandably perplexed as well as angry and upset.

The families may need to accept that while remembering their loved ones and looking for justice they must now look forward rather than backward. Sometimes the law does not deliver justice.

Easy to say when one is not directly involved and suffered loss of course.

I think the difference is that the inquest jury found the 96 (or 95 in law I think) were unlawfully killed by a series of mistakes by multiple people. This criminal case (which has a higher bar of proof) was only against one person whose defence was that he wasn't solely to blame even though he admitted to mistakes in opening the gates but not closing the central pens which were full.

Of course this is also a new case with a different jury and every jury is it's own beast. Like yourself, I think this is the end unless it goes to civil court with a lower bar of proof.

The British legal system is like bloody Brexit. Takes years and years and ends up not delivering what should have been.
