When will the fixture dates be released?

Or at least, when will the season start?

The fixtures themselves can't be drawn up until the National League playoffs have been completed on August 2nd.

Why such a long wait to get them played?

You'd have to ask them, I guess they're just lower down the football food chain.

It’s been, IIRC, the usual confusion and lack of coordination. The National League clubs early on voted to end their season - the economics for them of playing games without crowds were even more compelling than for League Two. Most non league playing contracts are for a year or less so would expire soon.

Then , after the EFL restarted with the Championship, plus play offs in Leagues One and Two, there was an intent for promotion and relegation to happen across the all the EFL, but now including the interface with the National League. So they have to, belatedly, get a play off set of games played, long after the EFL did so ( we know now, from what ECFC people including MT have said, that the play off plans for us were in place long before they were publicly announced)

is that so Scunthorpe can get home before midnight? If so will the same courtesy be extended to ECFC on our long Northern journeys to games behind closed doors?
