Money talks. What is MT currently paid by us £50k a year? £100k?
Are you telling my that if he is offered £250k on a 3 year deal he is going to say no to that?
I also think that Taylor will have seen what happened to Tisdale by hanging around too long and turning down offers (or not pursuing them hard enough).
I think 7 days before each game there should be a dutch auction of available seats followed by a lottery draw based on postcode, any unsold should then be put on ebay at 25p price increments.
I mean why can't the club do something simple like that to help the fans?
Although it hasn't been directly mentioned, we do have to consider Taylor's wages.
At the end of the day if a bigger club comes in with say a 3 year contract at double his wages, then he is going to consider it very seriously.
I have seen few posts and heard comments like this. We need some perspective here. Our current first XI is a lower half of the table L1 side, unless we add some X factor players we are not going to be in the top half.
I also do wonder if some of the clubs statements about the released players are overly "kind" shall we say as a way of helping them both now and in the future.
They are not going to say "we released player x because he is crap".
It is also true to say that lots of people think we are going to be just fine in L1 next season.
We need to improve the first team otherwise we will be in the bottom half of the table, I can easily see us struggling to about 50 points next season.
I have just discovered rather to my surprise that Caprice signed a 2 year extension during the season and so is at ECFC until 2024.
Clearly Taylor is confident that he can do the business in L1.
Although I appreciate loads of names inevitably get bandied about in all kinds of random ways, a versatile defender with plenty of L1 experience such as Donacien would probably be a good signing.
That would have been a very harsh decision. The ball was crossed as he went to make the tackle and hit him at very close range. I wouldn't describe the arm position as unnatural it was close to his body and not up in the air.
Yes this is the obvious answer. We can also easily rotate positions and players depending on if anyone is injured. For example if Jay isn't available, Brown can drop back and Nombe can play off the new CF.
We definitely need a top quality striker.
