And although the Randall and Randell confusion of the past couple of seasons is over, the identical error persists. Colin Randell, surely? :)
And you are spot on, malcolms, Colin Randell is one of the finest midfielders I've seen playing in our colours.
Re my post #19, I was wrong. The sub wasn't Jimmy Giles, but Johnny Giles (not THE Johnny Giles, of course, but another midfielder we signed from Bristol City). Jimmy joined us the following season.
And although the Rothmans Yearbook has it as 6-0 at half-time, the report on p.138 of Exeter...
Here's one I had to look up!
Division Four, Wednesday October 1st, 1969:
Exeter City 6 Swansea City 0!
It's listed as 6-0 at half-time.
I remembered it as 6-1, and 5-0 at half time, so it shows the old memory is beginning to go.
Team: Peter Shearing; Campbell Crawford, Steve Morris; Graham...
No disagreement from me that it's a crunch season for Ben.
However, he has scored consistently in mens' football when out on loan, albeit at a lower level than he is at now.
It is more about levels, I think, rather than men and boys, and as MT says, it's about affecting games more at the level...
This was also what I originally understood, Martin. But then I did some googling (after being put right by CB), and everywhere it says that pro contracts can only be signed at 17. So as one in the know, what sort of contracts would they have actually signed?
You may indeed be right, CB, but if that's true it's the same terminology they used when attempting to keep hold of Ethan and Jay. If they are indeed only scholars, then presumably the dreaded EPPP still applies? :(
