If we sold cans instead of bottles at the ground it's a starting point (probably some reason not able to)

Although our collecting year is end of season to end of season, our financial year fits in with ECC as it's they who buy the cans off of us.

As such our figures for 1/4/2021 - 31/3/2022 are very encouraging;

Total weight of cans collected was 5081kg which is just over 5 tons or roughly 284,536 cans!
This total weight has brought us the staggering sum of £4,528.55, on scrap Aluminium prices that have gone from £810 per ton the back in April 2021, to £1,000 a ton in March 2022. It is now, May 2022, a 'mouth watering' £1165 per ton. Which basically means an average beer/lager/cider/energy drink can is worth 2p!

So a huge thanks to EVERYBODY who supports Cans4City, you are to many to mention individually and i think many would not like to be highlighted, they just do it for ECFC.

So some more ECFC good news to go with what's happened on the pitch.

IF his wage is anywhere near that reported - £10k pw, then on the figures below we'd need to be recycling over 10 tons per week, or approx 500,000 cans per week! Get drinking then Hants!

All squashed? - some drinking!
Puts my carrier bag load in the shade.
Ah but g-n-h, as that well known saying goes; "Every little helps". Take care of the 'carrier bags' [pennies] and the bin liners [pounds] will take care of themselves!

In a meeting somewhere, some place...
Adam,

Many thanks for the cans, they'll only be at SJP for a short time as we're planning the next collection by ECC for the end of May.
If you drop them off by collecting cage in the recycling area in Red Square, then i'll find a home for them when i come into SJP around 1230/1pm. If you're interested, i can weigh them and let you know the weight and amount raised by you efforts?
Yes please - that would be much appreciated 👍

That's only what we've collected at SJP since 9th Feb, there are a couple of other sources that go directly to ECC, but get credited to Cans4City.

Our last load of cans, see photo on post 237 above, for season 2021/2022 went off today, they weighed in at 700 kg netting us a very impressive £745.50p.
This will enable Cans4City to fund a few more items for 'Kit out the Cliff Hill', as well as continue to support other ECFC related projects.
We are still collecting during the close season so please continue to collect from your friends, family & neighboroughs, clean your local area/streets of discarded cans, they all count and earn ECFC valuable monies to spend on not only the club but also ECFC wider Community projects.
