Allan Cuthbertson(1920-88) played in many TV roles & films during his career.Perfect for the role of Colonel Hall in the episode of ‘Gourmet Night’ in Fawlty Towers broadcasted in October 1975.

Colonel Hall: Two small and dry.
Basil Fawlty: Oh, I wouldn’t say that. 🤣
Colonel Hall: What?

There were some marvellous character actors who had bit parts in Fawlty Towers. Another was the Major , not forgetting O’Reilly and his ongoing demolition work of course…..

Indeed. Every character was the thing of casting genius. There's too many to mention:

The cocky cockney undercover copper
Mrs Richards
Terry the cheeky chappy chef
The curmudgeonly doctor
The toffee nosed con man
The alluring middle aged french lady
Mr O Reilly (and his men)
The hotel inspector that wasn't

....the list goes on...
