It’s never easy playing away from home, but with only one win in six so far this season in the league three points at the Sands Venue Stadium would be very welcome indeed 🙏

I think we'll win this. Scunthorpe have had a poor start and sooner or later we will click and go on a bit of a run.

Time for Nombe to get off the mark. Hopefully Brown will be back, no idea how bad his injury is but he was moving around the IP stand freely last weekend so it doesn't look like a bad one.

Can we match the result the only time I have been there. 4-0 win. Frighteningly, that was 8 years ago. :ROFLMAO:

On that occasion Arron Davies scored from the touchline, Sercs got 2 and Parkin a tap-in after the goalie spilled a long range shot from Grimes.

This is one weekend I'll really regret retirement.

North Lincs was a regular hunting ground workwise over the years and this would have been about the time I'd have had to be up there checking the summer's work, agreeing measures etc.

The Travelodge right by the ground was my usual stopping place (mainly thanks to the adjacent Old Farmhouse hostelry). Several times, while staying there, there were games on (most memorably, one against Millwall) but never a City one during my time there.

There's nothing more smugly satisfying that an awayday stop-over "on expenses" before a leisurely stroll to the match. Still, can't complain. Over the years I have managed the likes of Carlisle, Darlington, Hartlepool, Leeds, both Sheffields, Tranmere and even the Liverpool FAC replay courtesy of the corporate account!! (and, in my defence, it did enable me to do a full day's work before and after - and for no extra pay at weekends either. So I would argue it was win-win.

Will still be feeling a bit wistful on Saturday though.

Apparently Scunthorpe have only one fit defender. Add to that they’re pretty poor even at full strength, so we really should win. Nailed on 1-0 defeat then

Where did you hear about the 1 fit defender? A quick Google doesn't bring up any injury related news.

Scunthorpe have been playing 3-5-2. They only have 3 specialist centre backs in their squad. Last Saturday one got injured and one got sent off. Most of their other defensive players are fit.

A Scunny fan posted it on the football forum. As Dawlish Bouy says they are struggling to fill the CB slots so will probably have to switch to a different formation, or put square pegs in round holes.
