Academy coach? Does anyone know what age group? Scholars or lower? Doubt MT has anything to do with appointments outside of first team and maybe under 23's.

Someone from the Media team might have some explaining to do for putting Ajose in the SJP360 highlights. Seems very odd considering how even the mere mentioning of his name causes such consternation in the ranks. Perhaps an attempt at a poor joke or trying to draw attention to something that some people may not have wanted highlighted in case of subsequent awkward questions……
Considering there appear to be about three people throwing theiur hands in the air why on earth would that warrant anything the media team should concern themselves with? Perhaps it's time to move on and invest your energies in this season rather than last season?

On reflection you are probably right. No point in digging up things from the past, that have been done and dusted. Perhaps if he is coaching now with us that could turn out to be a benefit to everyone concerned and in years to come we all look back and say what a smart move that was.

Just seen an online article about which 5 free agent strikers Hartlepool Utd should consider signing - "our" Nicky was one of them!

Might be a tough decision for him if they offered him anything long term as he now seems to be starting off in coaching with us. Perhaps we could keep the door open for him if he still has ambitions as a player elsewhere.

I think the explanation is pretty obvious. His playing career was ended by injury. His coaching career however may still turn out well.
Exactly a simple and uncomplicated explanation which of course will not satisfy those who will not be satisfied lol.

As for him as a player i saw enough about him to suggest when fit he could have done a good job for the team and MT and had a strikers natural instinct for where to position himself in the box.

Having said that I have a clear memory of one game at SJP when playing along side Bowman (we were attacking the Big Bank) he found space to left hand side of the box was completely clear and unmarked and even from where we were sitting in Block H of the IPS could be heard screaming for the ball yet the former despite having no one else available to pass to seemed to quite deliberately ignore him.

It would be 'interesting' to know what budget is being used to accommodate his coaching aspirations. Bearing in mind the consensus seems to be that he was one of our better paid 'players' we can't surely be paying him the same to be an academy coach?

The general consensus now seems to be that even though his playing career with us amounted to nothing his coaching career might be an entirely different matter for which he deserves a chance to prove himself. As none of us know for sure the reasons behind his complete inability to train and play consistently during his two year contract he’s been offered a chance to prove himself in another role. Much like our signing of injured players, some turn out to be a waste of money, while others eventually fulfil their potential. Maybe he could turn out to be a cracking coach and a wise investment now. Speculate to a accumulate…….

Not me today. Someone asked about which budget he was being paid out of. You don’t answer that but have a pop at me….. other people are still talking about it so it must still be relevant.
