1975.

The poor record against Reading continued no wins against them going back 20 years & 17 games. That run was broken in the return fixture at SJP a few months later.

In the Manchester derby League Cup game,England midfielder Colin Bell was badly injured was out for 18 months & was forced to retire prematurely after a brief comeback.A real shame.

A entertaining game at SJP by the look of it.
Newport would finish the season as Champions.

Leeds..Peacocks..Rumour had it that Don Revie who was very superstitious had it changed along with removing the Owl from the badge on the club shirts.

One could probably write a book on Revies superstitions.
My favourite was the gypsy curse on Elland Rd.
To get the curse lifted apparently a gypsy had to pi55 on all four corners of Elland Rd 😎It worked Leeds won the League Championship the next season after several near misses.

Didn't Barry Fry do that as well when he was Birmingham manager at St Andrew's? Don't know if he got a gypsy in or did it himself mind 🙂

I'm sure that you'll all like to be reminded that today is the anniversary of the visit of Michael Jackson.
