Sercombe's career took off once he left us.

4 goals in 41 games for us in 2014 - 2015

17 goals in 58 games for Oxford United in 2015 - 2016 !!!

Sercs, who I know was marmite for many, scored higher on the grafting scale than the guile scale.

My take on Sercs FWIW is that at least when he was with us that he was / is a good player when given freedom in his best position, right sided combative attacking midfield. Ineffective when asked to do a different job like holding / covering (or once by Tis at right back...)

It says his last 150 games, which will include the promotion season with MK and two playoff seasons at ECFC, v. selective use of stats. What's the significance of 150?

"He was entitled to try to present himself favourably..."
For many City fans the name of the game is the all-important promotion and 2012-13 saw Tisdale once again aiming for that event after that ignominious 23rd place finish the previous season. So from 2012-13 to his departure to MK Dons in 2017-18 just what how many div 2 managers achieved this feat?

MK Dons thought he was worth a punt
And also quick to "boot" him out on his arse as soon as the wheels started falling off. 🥾

How many League 2 managers had that number of seasons and remained League 2 managers for the entirety?

They're not, it's just a discussion some people find interesting. If you're not obsessed, given the thread title, why did you bother posting on it?
Because the fascination with him astounds me...the bloke had yonks of time. Only got us back up one division really. Ended up stuck in League 2 for years and years...didn’t really move forward at all

Would you care to total up how many league 2 managers gave their fans something to cheer about by successfully gaining promotion between the years 2012-13 to 2017-18 while we remained marooned in league 2?

Why should it ‘astound’ you - he was manager here for longer than anyone else in most supporters’ lifetimes and was pretty successful for at least half of that time including being the first to gain promotion in a generation, the first ever to gain more than one promotion, the first ever to gain back to back promotions, the first to get us to Wembley, which he then repeated a further three times, the first to get us to the play-offs, the first to generate a million pound transfer fee for the club, the list goes on.

Sure half his time here was turgid, his departure less than savoury and his disdain for the club and its supporters increased with each passing season towards the end of his reign, but it shouldn’t really astound you that some supporters are still interested in discussing his time both here and subsequent to that should it?

There's not one fact in that piece that I would contest.
Even the statement that "... arguably Paul’s greatest achievement at Exeter City FC was his success in developing an environment conducive to attractive football philosophies"?

No, not that either.
I think we do have that environment.
