Taylor's management of Bowman last week and today is quite telling imho.

Last week when we were 2 - 0 up and comfortable he left Bowman on hoping he would score to boost his confidence and justify his selection.

Today when we were losing and needed a goal he was pulled off. On the face of it Taylor lost a bit of his very loyal faith in Bowman.
A side from the part Vale game, goalscoring isn't the issue. It's the defense that needs tightening up. Im hoping hartidge will get his chance.

Youtube highlights:

I really thought Ward should have done better with that underhit poorly placed penalty. Why the hell do modern day keepers dive before the ball is struck? If he'd remained standing until that moment, that would have been an easy stop to his right!
Watch it again Pete. Ward hasn't moved. Moreover, and more likely, the penalty taker has given him the eyes.

I've seen the highlights and the penalty looks soft, I'd like to see another angle though as it's not very clear what happened.

Their first goal was disappointing, that should have been closed down or dealt with before the shot was even taken, that said, it was well placed in the far corner through 3 defenders. Little hope for Ward on that one.

Good to see Bowman finally do something of note with his assist but again we got some good crosses in and he failed to capitalise, and that's just the ones from the highlights.

Randall is becoming a bit of a one on one specialist, once he is beyond the backline he is quick and direct to the opposition goal, he's going terrify every full back he plays against. He's sharp and will pounce on any mistakes, which makes up for his not so physical game.

What an absolute stunner by Fisher, if that doesn't earn him a start, then who knows what will? We need someone willing to burst into the area Nd getting on the end of the endless supply of crosses.
