No need for that really Danny. The Stanno song will go on for a long, long time because the fans won't forget. The decision about the No 9 shirt will be the clubs, and player's to some extent, and it could have been worn last season. It will be a bigger thing to be given the shirt and whoever gets it will be aware of the history.

Well I hope the club Don’t use the number 9 shirt again plus It would be far better for the club to not use the number 9 shirt and to highlight the reason.

It was said at the time it would be for 9 seasons which was fitting because you want to see other players take on the 9 and follow in his footsteps eventually.

That's your opinion and that's fair enough. Other people are allowed to have other opinions. I'm sure the club wouldn't do anything to lessen Adam's memory, hence the Stagecoach Adam Stansfield Stand. If a decision is made to put the number nine shirt back in play, it will still hold a special honour to uphold.

Why are we even discussing it? The decision (and a brilliant one it was) was to not use the No: 9 shirt for 9 years. Wholly commendable, respectful and in keeping with all the memories of a popular player- well done the Club for sticking with it too.

Makes me proud.

Time to move on now.

Great decision.

And Danny, before you weigh in, just **** off.

As I’ve said before, the decision to retire for 9 seasons before safeguarding it to homegrown players is more impactful than a permanent retirement in my opinion. Handled well by the club.

Great idea by the club and the foundation but personally I think it should of stayed retired.

Presumably Ben Seymour as Exeter City’s number 9 then? if I speak I’d be in trouble. :censored:
