He’s apologised for his ‘senior moment’ in not wearing his mask, it happens. Always satisfying to see a holier than though virtue signaller like him feck up though.

I guess Cameron and Osborne would argue that had they not tackled the structural deficit with their austerity agenda, the national debt might be closer to £3 trillion now.

    UK Lockdown

Highest infection rates in Europe in the Czech Republic now apparently. Interesting to see that some of the countries that were praised for their efforts in the first wave are now struggling with the rest of us this time round. Poor Belgium looks like it could be hit the hardest again in Europe...

The Trial of the Chicago 7. Netflix Original. Really enjoyed this Aaron Sorkin effort, tells the story of a disparate group of protesters who got pinged in the early years of the Nixon administration and were accused of causing violence around the 1968 Democratic party convention in Chicago...

......or alternatively they are very positive about the UK’s future outside of the EU’s orbit and see the man who is almost defined as a politician as an optimist as the chap to guide us through it. You pays yer money, you make yer choice. 🤷‍♂️

RP. I was making a general point about the left’s penchant for lionising some foreign leaders. The ability to differentiate between them seems to be the left’s problem not mine.

Really? The U.K. has just given a supreme optimist an 80 seat majority. The British left does like it’s foreign heroes, Saint Jacinda follows in the footsteps of the geezer from Venezuela and the maid from Burma, but like all political careers they Crash and Burn eventually.

I’m not so sure Elgy. The 450 regional job cuts at the BBC are said to be part caused by the loss of licence fee revenue. I have family and friends who after a lifetime of happily paying the licence fee have now decided to sack it off such is there frustration with the BBC.

    The BBC

We’ve had this conversation before I think. I’m choosing to get annoyed at Lineker and would like a situation to exist where I could exercise consumer choice and extend that annoyance by not paying the licence fee, the vast bulk of which goes to the BBC and eventually to Lineker himself...

    The BBC

Nope. 🙄 The normal rules of consumer choice means that I could target specifically my displeasure at Lineker and the BBC and cancel my BBC tv licence and at the same time carry on watching other live tv.

    The BBC

It’s not about getting triggered, it’s about a person having some regard for the consumers of the public service broadcaster he takes a large amount of cash from. The BBC’s funding model means the normal rules of consumer choice are not there. I wonder if Lineker’s antics would be tolerated if...

It’s perfectly legitimate to think that the way the EU does things is just better or that being part of an entity like the EU means we escape inferior British law, but in case you hadn’t noticed this has been crux of the whole Brexit argument, the country has rejected the primacy of EU law and...

Lest we forget also that the EU’s sainted food standards had no issue with the turkey twizzler. 🤢

Thanks AU. Just did a quick bit of reading up on the subject and yes the Government wants the ability to negotiate trade deals with out our food standards being enshrined in law as they were when we were in the EU. It’s made assurances that it will not compromise standards in such a way that...
