What date will we be back watching live football at SJP Thread.

Glad to see that you’ve come round to my way of thinking apropos bubbles at games, ie they create unnecessary complications. However, while I’m ready to be persuaded otherwise, I’m inclined to agree with you on this. For one, if Plymouth have so many season ticket holders then you’d have...

Seems a pretty much guaranteed way to test the patience of some of your most loyal supporters. Madness.

    Politics Today

Hardly surprising the government's been a 'bit quiet' if, as you suggest, the success rate is around 55%. Given there are only two possible outcomes [positive or negative] you'd expect a toss of a coin to have a success rate of circa 50%.

Matt Taylor - 2 Years As ECFC Manager...

Like you, I'm a Taylor fan and think he's done a fantastic job integrating so many of our academy products into the first team this season. At the same time, it's worth pointing out MT's three summer signings were Caprice, McArdle, and Page. Appreciate all three of them have been unfortunate...

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

I don’t disagree with this. My point was not that it‘s problematic for individuals to do as the club asks, but rather that interpreting the guidelines must be a minefield for the club.

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

Common sense would say anyone buying a beer under the ASSS at half-time should be allowed to return to their seat and drink it in the fresh air [rather than congregating under the stand in a less-well ventilated area]. So, genuine question, will that be permissible? Common sense would suggest...

So, according to the guidelines, the club can serve alcohol and isn't required to provide table service, as long as you return to your seat to drink your beer. That's all very well, except that, as we all know, you can't consume alcohol within sight of the pitch, ie when sitting in your seat...

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

This is from the gov.uk website, https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-phased-return-of-sport-and-recreation/elite-sport-return-to-competition-safe-return-of-spectators, according to which, it seems, masks must be worn in indoor stadia and are to be...

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

Further to my previous post, just to demonstrate what a minefield this is, it says on the club website: 'Face maks must be worn at all times once you have entered the stadium'. it is, I guess, conceivable that the club has unilaterally taken this decision. However, my understanding is that the...

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

You may well be right. It just seems to me that any gains are likely to be disproportionate to the effort involved. Notwithstanding some people's bubbles may have changed since the club last asked, I can't see it will materially affect the number of people allowed inside SJP, but it could well...

Tickets for the EFL Trophy game against Northampton

Not sure how much of a factor this will be, given it would seem to rely on stewards having some sixth sense, whereby they will somehow know if two or more people are in the same bubble. I'd have thought the whole situation would be easier to manage if this potential complication were to be...

I'd agree, it'd be possible, but not sure it would warrant the effort. As an aside, if you want a pint of beer you have to be seated at a table, but one presumes you if you want a tea, coffee, or soft drink you queue up as normal. Dare I say, it's hard to fathom the logic.

So, it seems there's no requirement to eat 'a substantial meal' in order to purchase a drink at a football ground. However, you do have to be sitting down. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/dec/01/returning-football-fans-to-be-allowed-alcohol-without-a-meal-in-stadiums Not sure we have...
