Cocaine Bear. Apparently based on a true story (loosely!). A load of cocaine gets chucked out of a small plane, and a bear finds it and likes it! He causes mayhem looking for his next hit. Very silly and quite funny. Good Friday night entertainment. 7/10.

65. An alien spaceship crash lands on earth 65 million years ago. A time of dinosaurs and a climatic changing meteorite is about to crash into earth. A good suspenseful and action movie, which was nice and short at 93 minutes. The two aliens confusingly looked very human though! Again good Friday night entertainment. 7/10.

To Leslie

I thought I'd give this a watch given all the controversy around its lead actress's Oscar nomination.

I don't really see what the fuss is all about. Andrea Riseborough's performance is as remarkable as it is astounding. The only controversy would be if she doesn't win it. Which she might not, because the film didn't really play the game, and that's a shame. I mean, it surpasses Zellwegger's winning turn as Judy Garland a few years ago, and by some distance.

The only negative I could say about the film is the final scene which is a bit contrived and unrealistic, but that doesn't really drag it down. It's sometimes hard to believe you're watching a Geordie lass. Some great turns in the supporting roles too: Alison Janney for one who is as acerbic as ever.

Why is this film/Actress being nominated contraversial? Ive not taken much notice beside some headlines.

Two Fridays in a row. I've been quite disappointed by what Cineworld offers here recently. Annoyingly they offer trailers for films that they will never show. :(

It's a long story. To get a nomination, there's a load of hoops that need to be jumped through apparently. Putting in a great turn isn't enough and is just the start of the process. It got a nod down to a viral social media campaign by well known actors/actresses (along the lines of "you simply have to see this"). Put into the mix the fact that no black actresses got nominated and it all became a bit of a kerfuffle with a race card or two being thrown in for good measure.

So basically someone who happens to be really good "Muscleing in" not fitting a particular narrative or bowing to the Oscar gods and the outraged are outraged?

A controversy has erupted surrounding the unexpected Academy Award nomination of Andrea Riseborough as best actress for her role in To Leslie, a low-budget film.

The nomination has appalled executives at the giant conglomerates that run the entertainment business and their media front men and women, along with the racialists who anticipated the nod would go to either Viola Davis (for The Woman King) or Danielle Deadwyler (for Till), both African American actresses.

A quote not my words. racialist??

When that word is quoted or used by someone Isca, You don't know whether to laugh or roll your eyes, Whoever quoted it has a real grasp of the English Language! :)
