I do worry about the lapses of concentration evident in Key and TBF all of our defenders, but this is par for the course in L1 and even more in L2. IMO we could afford to let Key go if the offer is high enough - but only if we can sign a decent specialist RB and ideally a LB too, to give us the flexibility to play 4 at the back with confidence and free Caprice to play RM where he is most effective.

I agree with you completely. I wonder if this has anything to do with Jamal's communication. A good keeper always keeps his defenders moving in the right direction.

I don't think so, it was the same last season when we had Cam Dawson, but we were playing aginst weaker teams so got found out less often. The team are good L1 standard, though our goals conceded (39) are currently on the high side for a mid-table position.

I find it very difficult hearing the "dip in form" and "lapses of concentration" comments. It would be difficult for an experienced player to play the number of positions he has... let alone a 23 year old! He has played in defence, midfield and attack! How many players can you name who have been asked to do that AND been asked to play in multiple positions within defence??? I genuinely can't think of one!!!

I really feel for Josh. By all accounts he's an outstanding young man and he has sacrificed his own development for the benefit of our team this year. Any club who get will be getting a gem regardless of the final transfer fee.

This will be a bit controversial but I don’t believe key has the end product to be a championship player.
He has no idea in the final third on most occasions and I would be taking 500k plus at the moment

Arnold joined the club at 23 and stayed until he was 37. A little different to what Josh has been asked to do and probably more importantly a VERY different era

I used the term 'dip in form'. Perhaps it's the wrong phrase but there is absolutely no doubt that JK isn't as effective as he was in the run up to when we had that offer from Sunderland.

He has been asked to play in a number of positions this season, but his 'dip in form' started before he was asked to be a jack of all trades.

Don't get me wrong, I like JK, he's a good player and I'm sure he will go onto bigger and better things but I'd be surprised if we got much more than the 500k being discussed.

Its a strange post from Mr Turnswood. How can Blackpool be pushing to sign him if no contact has been made between the clubs. If thats pushing I'd hate to see what 'enquiring' was like. also 500k is well under our valuation which when MT was with us was just over 1m. He may not have shown the consistency of old but I doubt his valuation has halved.
The way he has played this albeit in some strange positions I would snap there hand of for 500k
He certainly is no left sided player or a number 10

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If we had sold him and missed out on promotion many would be questioning the clubs ambition. Also Key has adapted to league one reasonably well imho and with the fact he has played out of position more than any other player in our side, he has more than held his own. (HE is not a striker)
Certainly not in the last couple of games has been really poor
