Had to laugh when he said: 'Listen, in football people make mistakes, but I'm not going to point a finger... at Cheick... for letting the ball role under his foot.'
Let’s get real, Caldwell and the players are not cutting it at the moment. The problem is what?

this is harsh. granted their are some causes for concern but we're generally doing alright and i'd say caldwell's first 6 or so games have been around par. we're practically the highest we've ever been in the football pyramid so lets not start wetting the bed over a couple of albeit very disappointing performances

Better to have a dip in form in November rather than April I always say...

January is so important. I think you might as well tear up Stubbs contract. Best defender but cannot get him on the pitch. It’s always 3-4 weeks and it never happens when he Is back.
we need to invest to stop what coild
Soon become a rot. We are lucky we have had a good start but if we lose on Friday we will soon be looking down not up.

January we need a commanding experienced CB.
we need a CM. It is clear to see Dieng is not up to league 1 in mid. He is too slow across the ground I would suggest moving him to CB as he is effective in both boxes but is a passenger in mid.
The profile we need in there is a very strong DM. If you saw Ipswich number 5 the other day bossed us about and controlled mid.

we then I think need a LWB. Sparkes struggles defensively and I think whilst he has played well at the start of the year we need more pace and defensive cover.

I think three players there would be enough to keep us up along with another striker to cover us regarding injuries.

An aggressive centre midfield is a must, as is a central defender. What we have is simply not up to league1 standard. A striker would also be good but after the above.

Haven't had one of them for years, though Kite is surely capable of establishing himself in this role. Nor a specialist left back who can defend well. But neither position fits in with the 5 2 3 (or slight variation thereof) that we've been playing for a season and a third now. Maybe time for a rethink, or simply do what we do now better? This is how Gary Caldwell earns his salary...

Very good interview. Sweenz telling it straight.

Agreed but we need to turn words into action especially if we have lost Jay Stansfield.
