Cidermen sign Durham opener Sean Dickson.
This looks a good signing as he has a decent red ball average given the seam friendly Chester le Street wickets.

As regards the current match, I would not be surprised if Somerset bat on in the morning to ensure Northants have no chance at all of winning. The draw will put the Cidermen 17 points clear of Warwickshire. The win secures safety short of points deductions but if Northants did win they would be only 9 points clear

You could be right.

I've always reckoned that nobody ever does Somerset any favours, but.........thanks Gloucs.

Well Hampshire certainly hasn't this week, so having blown their title hopes, one can't have much faith in their ability to win against Warwickshire next week !

Northants 49/5 at lunch, so the Cidermen need just five more wickets in the remaining two sessions to guarantee their safety from relegation !

Tight finish - only a mere 352 runs in it at the end! :)

Middlesex about to clinch victory against Leicestershire - the end delayed by the fact the Leicestershire #11 walked out to bat without his box.

Once we knock the last one over promotion is in our hands next week.

Better to forget his bat than do that.
