What, you mean Rich! Rish! betraying his northern constituency roots and defecting behind the blue wall?

(On the other hand, there's the alternative of Margaret Hilda Boudicca Truss, in full camouflage kit trying to park her tank of Parliament Green.)

What a parcel of rogues for a nation. What a (Gordon) Hobson's choice.

I consider Jason as "Old School Tory" where he knows that if say someone breaks the ministerial code he'd want them to go, Believe's that there should be standards in Politics, Jinxy is the "Populist Tory" Where lying and defending the indefensible is justified at all costs.

I disagree with Jason's Politics but respect him for his knowledge and he put's in a fair argument.
Good summary. Totally on the nail.
I too respect Jason : he's not one of the nasty types who seem to be drawn to the Tory honeypot I'll forgive him for campaigning for Raaaab the Robot for PM a few years back.

The only Tory I've ever had time for is the one-nation type, disparagingly referred to as a 'wet' once upon a time. Even a hardline Thatcher government made room at the cabinet table for such people; Prior, Walker, Gilmour etc. - generally capable, talented and often decent public servants. The Tory party genuinely was a 'broad church'.

Post-Johnson since the purge of said types, and the refashioning of the party to appeal to the more extreme base, the baton has been passed on promising more of the same - tax cuts to defund public services and increase funding to the least deprived area of Kent, just two recent examples. Sorry, but I've no time for anyone who continues to vote for, support and prop up such an outfit, one destroying this country from the inside. They're all complicit.

Tend to agree Elegy. You could possibly add Ken Clarke to that list. As you say, once, the Tory party were a broad church.

Now, post Adolf de Pfiffle Trump, they seem more like the ITV version of Broadchurch...stabbing each other in the back and determined to push each other off the cliff.

Sad thing is, the televised version was merely a fictional melodrama.

This version is sadly all too real.

Things Tory members are concerned with:

-The French
-Money going to urban areas
-Pronouns
-Woke
-Extinction Rebellion
-Poor people having houses near them
-Black Lives Matter

Things they should be concerned with:

-Anthropogenic climate change
-Equality
-Equal opportunity
-Cost of living
-Affordable housing
-Air quality
_Biodiversity

Amazing, isn't it, how money insulates you from the things that really matter...

You forgot Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and people arriving by Dinghy, two of the greatest threats this country faces.

The 'brilliant' and 'watertight' plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda isnt working?! - surely not!!!!

"This week 696 asylum seekers crossed the Channel from France to the UK in one day, the Ministry of Defence said.
The increased numbers arriving in more overcrowded boats with cheaper crossing prices demonstrate that plans to forcibly remove some asylum seekers who arrive in the UK on small boats are not acting as a deterrent".

Never fear, Liz is here!
Yes, she alone will fight the demon inflation by taking full advantage of our Brexit status to coin in the money. Investors will flock to London in the knowledge that Liz will solve all the problems that she helped to create by un-creating them .
When asked what measures she would take if she became P.M., Liz said that she was a Conservative.

CBI warns economic crisis 'cannot wait' until the Tory leadership contest's conclusion for action
Tony Danker, the CBI director general, has said he fears a power vacuum amid the Tory leadership contest, warning that the economic crisis “cannot wait until 5 September for action”.

His comments came as both Boris Johnson and Nadhim Zahawi are both on holiday as the country braces for a looming economic crisis.

Must be very serious if Danker (must have suffered at school) is saying this.
Meanwhile Piffle is on holiday. Why should a piddling little problem like this
disturb his hols? Eh? Anyway, he's never been one to worry too much about the state of this nation
