It was indeed a lovely day - Somerset actually reaching 300.
I was there for Ball one right to the last Ball - a good days cricket and excellent weather

Minuses - Tom Lammonby poor shot to get out first ball off the change bowler and a crazy run out of Tom Abell

Pluses - Lewis Goldsworthy looks a useful prospect getting his maiden first class 50 (he is very tiny though) and the other Lewis (Gregory) really is a good bat never looked in trouble

Observation - Jamie Overton is sharp but bowls far too short the last two overs he bowled to Peter Siddle - Siddle only had to play at one

Still think Surrey will win it but Somerset have made a fist of it.

Apologies Al I never managed to get to Rory's flowing locks however shout of the day from the crowd when Rory chased one down and prevented a Boundary
'She Fielded That One Well'

And as for England - Magnificent - Bairstow was brutal
Thanks for that. Glad Rory got a bit of stick.

As regards Goldsworthy, did you get an opinion from Pate on his lack of height ? :ROFLMAO:

As you say, Somerset at least have put up a fight. Another 100 runs needed to set Sorry a target of sorts though. Seems unlikely unless Gregory does a Bairstow.

Have to admit to following events at Trent Bridge in priority. Thought we might be fooked at 90 odd for 4 with that long tail. Jonny Bairstow’s innings was really quite out of this world. Ben Stokes played his part too. 👏👏👏

Definitely couldn't replace Cam and shorter than Pym would be by opinion but obviously subject to expert advice (y)

Nothing to worry about. He's called Goldsworthy not Goalsworthy.

No sign of Amla yet, Sorry on 75-3 needing 118 more to win, a few more wickets could make for a tense finish !

Maurice Golesworthy was an ecfc writer/historian back in the day, one of the complete record authors.

He used to do the match programmes as well.
