Sounds like plenty of trouble at Vale Park post match (if Talksport's commentary is to be believed).

So unnecessary.

Well, Swindon really blew that penalty shootout after Ward had given them a chance with those two saves.

Some more poor behaviour from “fans” unfortunately.

The narrative about pitch invasions will kick off again. There is nothing wrong with them per se, if people go to celebrate with their own players. There were far too many Vale fans running straight to the half way line where the Swindon players were and not towards their own players who had ran towards the penalty area. It was a minority, but it wasn't just one or two wrong'uns, it was a fair number.

Looked pretty unsavoury from the pictures as well - clearly an incredibly small minority of a much bigger group just looking to revel in Vale's success. I suspect the events of the last week or two will see the authorities crack down on pitch invasions; the age old 'and that's why we can't have nice things' seems to apply here. Just takes the odd d!ckhead.

Just very disappointing that the minority of Vale fans could not just celebrate rather than trying to get to McKirdy . Something will undoubtedly be done about pitch invasions after some of these play off game antics.

A group of Vale fans ran straight over to Harry Mckirdy, who obviously used to play for them, some Swindon players surrounded McKirdy to try and protect him and a scuffle broke out with fists being chucked around by the Vale fans. It's a joke that players have to protect themselves from opposition fans. Losing is hard enough without some gobby p!ssed up tw@t of a fan trying to punch you as well.

I'm all up for a pitch evasion and fans celebrating with their players but the opposition players need to be protected by the Police and Stewards and shouldn't need their own team mates fighting off opposition fans. Hope Vale lose heavily at Wembley.

When we played Vale at SJP it looked like a steward was assigned one player to "protect" and we had set up a rope to separate fans - shame Vale didn't follow our example !

Surely it’s not too difficult to get the stewards to cordon around opposite players at the end of games like this, forward planning I think they call it
