Partygate investigation over with, A total of 126 fines issued, PM to face no more fines so legally its done and dusted, Sue Gray's report can now be fully published. That is the state of play as of now.

Please supply the evidence that you refer to about economically wasteful box ticking.
Please supply your opinion on the substantive issue.

Yep, hopefully Beergate will also be over soon (without a resignation kerfuffle), and so that'll be that nonsense over.

Helping cash-strapped Britons won’t add to inflation, says CBI
Chief of business association calls for stimulus that aids ‘hardest hit’ with rising food and fuel bills

Tackling rising food and fuel bills will not add to inflation and people who are “the hardest hit” need help now, the head of the UK’s biggest business association has warned.
Official figures published on Wednesday revealed UK inflation soared to 9% in April – its highest level for more than 40 years – as the rising cost of gas and electricity pushed household energy bills to record levels.

Tony Danker, the director general of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “You have to help the hardest hit now.
“Helping people with heating and eating bills will not fuel inflation.

Wonder what the police investigation cost? In these troubled times one feels whatever it was it could have been better spent. But what’s a bit more money down the drain to this lot? They all live on another planet.

Compared to what was spunked on Covid in total, probably not even a spit in the ocean.

And before you blame that on the Tories, its opposition parties would've had us locked down much harder and for way longer. Even more would've been spunked.

It's all Labour's fault !!
You have no idea what Labour would have done : you are assuming things that are beyond your knowledge.
Another weak attempt to divert from Tory incompetence and cronyism. Fortunately fewer and fewer people believe that carp, so you're only fooling yourself.

Billionaire Sunak's answer to helping the poorest in society?
1) Reduce business taxes
2) Let the OILigarch corporations keep their unearned "windfalls"
3) That's all folks

‘That’s all folks’

Don’t think it is.To paraphrase Lincoln and twist his words a bit.
You can con all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot con all the people all the time.
As things start to bite folk will begin to wake up.About time politicians realised they were elected to serve not use their posts as a springboard to launch their so called ’ careers’ and line their pockets and pension plans in the process.
The world and the times are a-changing.
