Hi all. Looking forward to a cracking game tomorrow night. I don't think we've played an Exeter team since we've been back down here that hasn't been strong. I'm surprised that you haven't been promoted before now to be honest.

I think the talk about you postponing the match because of Covid was a little tongue in cheek. I'd expect it off a club like Stevenage but I don't think Exeter are like that as a club. Sometimes injuries happen and it seems that you have a squad that can deal with them.

I'm expecting a very tough game to be honest. It seems that you haven't been at your absolute best in the past few weeks but have picked up results...the sign of a good team. Your manager was talking about a 'free hit' almost, which plays well psychologically as the players will feel they have nothing to lose.

We're not a team full of technically brilliant players. Wilson has the touch and movement that's a level above but apart from that it's more about the power and running. Our fitness levels are top notch and we're not afraid to use muscle when needed. Garrity in midfield is having a brilliant season and his energy to run beyond the strikers is one to watch.

Having said that, we have thrown in a couple of stinkers on a Tuesday night, but we should be full of confidence. We do have a bit of a habit of conceding a soft goal and lack pace generally. A draw wouldn't be a disaster for either team and I think that's what it will be.
To be fair, we did call off a couple of games over Christmas because of covid but then went on to play at Sutton with a very bare bones squad. Unless there are some miraculous recoveries we are down to 16 available players which is why we are expected to recall some youngsters from loan spells. However, apart from the much-discussed issue in central midfield the team we put out should still be quite strong, even if a few players are running on fumes after a busy run of games.

I may stand to be corrected but I don't recall US calling off those games, Shirley it was the opposition ? Certainly Swindon cried off from the Boxing Day match, which was a big financial hit for us.

Yeah. Wrights pies are mass produced crap. You want to try an oatcake with sausage and cheese, heaven.
Bloody love oatcakes with sausage and cheese, me. Wrapped up in foil, in the oven for 5 minutes, bit of brown sauce.

Quote from Onevalefan today: "Wilson was limping after the game on Saturday - hope he is fit for tomorrow"

Here's hoping your best player has a bad injury and is unavailable tomorrow. No offence.

I don't hope he has a bad injury; just one that keeps him out until Saturday.

Fair enough, it was clumsily worded by me, I just meant an injury that keeps him out tomorrow rather than a slight limp he quickly recovers from.

It was definitely us who postponed the Swindon game, not sure about the Vale one.

Will Aaron Martin play tomorrow night? I note he wasn't in the squad against Bradford, though he has been a regular this season.
James Wilson is probably their danger man, hopefully Sam can take care of him..
He was ill apparently and could return tomorrow https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/port-vale-injury-news-exeter-6835381

Seemed to do a good job there so far 🤷🏻‍♂️
No doubting that but the choice is Hartridge or Sweenz in midfield, Sweenz would be the better option and Chieck would be more comfortable on the right being right footed. All the evidence stacks up to a no brainer.
