Moeen retires from test cricket. A handy bowler and his batting should've been better than his stats suggest. Seems like a decent chap and good on him for not putting himself through the tour of Australia if he wasn't up to it mentally.
Seeing he came in to the side as a batter who could bowl a bit his 195 test wickets are not to be sniffed at. Third in the England all time list behind Underwood and Swann. He had some very good series with the ball, particularly against India. In a way his struggles with the bat where he was expected to contribute more than he did at times overshadowed what a good spinner he was.

Warwicks would seem to have the edge over Lancs in the Bob Willis Trophy.

Only just though. :)

I think this game is unnecessary. Warwickshire won the Championship and this match serves no purpose. It has been poorly attended too.

No disrespect to the late, great Bob Willis.

I agree. Pointless.

It's odd to name a county cricket trophy after Bob. He gave his all in test matches, and couldn't do that in every county match. Same with John Snow and other quicks.

One time Somerset nemesis Sam Northeast now rocking up at Glamorgan on a 3 year deal after trying out Yaaarkshire and Notts following an acrimonious departure from Hampshire this summer.

County Championship will revert to the two-division format in 2022.
