QUICKFIRE ROUND 3 DECEMBER USER GUIDE & RULES

Kick Off 19:30

Half Time 20:15

Second Half K.O. 20:30

Full Time 21:15

A clue in play at the end of each half will mean added time so these timings will be a bit flexible.

This is a round where we are looking for the skill of the fox in the box type striker who is in the right place at the right time, sees a chink in the armour of the defence and takes aim.

No fancy build up in this round so no workings are needed.

Most of the clues will be "say what you see" or you may need to take only a short step to steady yourself to launch one off.

To preserve a proper balance with the points awarded for the non Quickfire round clues where lots of effort goes in (see today with a lot of elegant work) this is how it will work in terms of points:

Correct answer within 2 minutes on the Exeweb clock 0.25 point

Correct answer within 5 minutes on the Exeweb clock 0.5 point

Correct answer within 10 minutes on the Exeweb clock 1 Point

A clue unsolved after more than 10 minutes will be withdrawn and if the correct answer is given out of time it will not count. The clue could be offered on another day as a random bonus point or part point so don't waste a shot.

Clues in all three categories will rock up and some of you may even come into it.

Lots of points up for grabs.

If you are a smart ass and sit on an answer waiting for the pointage to increase you are likely to be disappointed as someone else picks the ball off your toe and pokes it in.

You were close with the Cheese answer as were a couple of other answers but the Gumbys have reviewed everything long and hard and have applied their massive collective intellect with great diligence.

Besides, it is only day 2.

Damn, I’m going to miss this next round due to coaching my U18 football team. Can you put a few up this afternoon that only I’m allowed to answer?

Nice BIG Leaderboard, especially for fred.

Banksy holds the lead for a second day.
I’ve looked long and lovingly at that gorgeously prepared board
knowing full well that that will be the last day I will see my name figuring at the top of it.I expect the fast guns to be sniffing around today and I will be quickly relegated to the bargain basement.

The poster formerly known as Greyhound now answers to AfghanHound, in a familiar tactic to edge up the table on goal diff.
