They snuck that one in. But let me guess, the winners still get the same.
It's been halved all the way through. You'd have thought though that whichever of the big 6 ends up winning it isnt too fussed about the £1.8m 'loose change' they get. Add in the £900k for the losing finalist and that's £2.7mill that could actually have been used to pay winners in lower rounds at a higher rate.

Loads of stupid rules about at the moment. The football crowd one being merely one of them.

Apparently yesterrday, 400 fans were allowed in to Middlesbrough. But they couldn't watch the game from the seats, they had to sit in the hospitality rooms and watch on a big screen with the blinds down. Mind boggling.
At first glance stark staring bonkers.

Maybe the costs of letting them into a part of the seats in terms of stewarding and "deep cleaning" was an issue ?

More likely just an inconsistency due to non joined up thinking.
There was no reason to abrubtly cancel all the test sporting events which were ready to go a few weeks back.
They would have provided data, best practice templates and allowed for testing of track and trace procedures.

Well that is what I think too. I am too generous with those who dream all this stuff up. Agree with all you say. Prof Carl Heneghan makes this point in the newspaper today about actually gathering data and analysing it rather than making panic knee jerk reaction decisions which are not evidence supported when you drill down into them.

We won't be meeting Notts County in round 1 due to some players testing positive for Covid. So, Aldershot are through.

Why Aldershot. Notts were due to play Kings Lynn 😁

Couldn't be bothered to read all their statements! Shots league game with Notts has been postponed. The Shots of course are playing a suburb of Guildford in the cup :)

most of the smaller Westcountry teams got knocked out today...so we won't be facing them...Weston super Mare, Taunton, Weymouth and Dyer/Smerdon's Chippenham.

But plucky non leaguers Torquay and Yeovil are through... draw takes place on Monday

Chippenham conceded a winner in injury time at Concord.
