I saw them years ago along with the Edgar Broughton Band.
I enjoyed it a lot but some others in the room didn't.

Their lead singer is from Exeter. Given the Gammon reference I wonder if he's a stalker in here and contributor to the Politics thread?

On their first album they did a song called Exeter. The bassist is from Newton Abbot, I believe.

I'd almost completely forgotten them until I heard them yesterday on Jo Willey. I think Harriet Wheeler's voice is stunning.

The Wedding Present have released an album today called Locked Down and Stripped Back which is a re-recording of several of their better known songs plus a couple of new ones. It was recorded with each person doing their thing at home and the songs are a lot less raw than the originals. I'm quite liking it.
