Especially if Benrahma goes soon as rumoured.

The best outcome for us is that Brentford go up and Ollie is sold in January. I believe we have a promotion bonus due if they go up. No idea how much though.
.
I didn"t know we had a promotion bonus tied in. Then it would depend on how much.
Otherwise I still prefer Brentford not to get promoted (sorry) but Ollie to get transferred. Bird in the hand stuff

I'm not sure why anybody would have Benrahma over Ollie. He's exciting enough but doesn't have the consistency or reliability that Ollie has.

Two different styles of player imo, hard to compare them. Benrahma more of a playmaker and Ollie is now and out and out striker, doubt the same clubs will be looking to buy one or the other.
The problem is who leaves first, if Benrahma goes then Brentford would be more inclined to keep hold of Ollie (and vice-versa). Of course if they go up, then will try to keep hold of both.

Yep correct. 2 totally different types of players. Hopefully IF we go up we’ll keep both. We’re adding a proven striker very soon to either take his place or play up front with him.

ah, I was beginning to wonder if there was such a bonus in the transfer. It would have been far sighted, but really sensible for precisely the situation we face now... the prospect of both Ollie and Brentford doing really well and getting into the Prem, awash with money but none of it heading our way.

i believe we got an add on re Seaborne when Southampton got promoted?

I’d be over the moon if he went for £30m. These sums are ridiculous given what’s going on, but would be amazing for City

The sums, for premier league signings in general, are indeed crazy in today’s climate. However, while COVID will affect clubs in the championship or lower, premier league clubs don’t rely on gate receipts that much to fund their transfers. While the Sky money and other sponsorship is there, these clubs will continue to spend big.

I hope that there’s a clause where we will get a promotion bonus for Ollie if Brentford go up. Either way we’re surely in for a pay day of some kind.
