Seems to have happened a few times in the last few weeks. A minister makes a statement about having had talks with a sector, then a spokesperson for that sector immediately contradicts them. It's a bit worrying though that Gove is saying there is a shortage of chemical reagents necessary for testing and then the chemical industries association say there isn't really, but no one from the government has asked 🙄. You'd have thought the government would have asked but also that the chemical companies would have said "what do you need us to do" if they hadn't.
I guess they think that if they give 5 different versions of every story one of them must be right

You forgot...
Spin Doctor: "Make a two minute video to explain you have a persistent cough. Don't forget to cough".
Spin Doctor: "Oh, do it your own way then".
Surely you're not suggesting for one moment that Johnson, Hancock, Cummings and the "expert" bloke were putting it on the old
Corona act just to avoid the growing severe criticism regarding zero action and lies about PPE?
And just because Johnson and Hancock didn't cough (a key Corona symptom), it doesn't mean they were telling porkies
The new slogan from BoJos new Aussie OR camp is :
"Believe in Boris! You know it makes sense"

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Gove is a past master at answering the question he wants to answer rather than the one that was asked.
As do 99% of politicians..Something we have got very weary of.

A couple of weeks back,a classic example of the political class, was a straight forward question to the Lib Dem spokesperson on Education about potentially closing schools.
The obvious answer was that it was a good idea given how things were going.Move on & next question, but she talked in riddles & you had no idea what her or her party opinion was on the important issue.

The one thing I do think in these exceptional, tough, fast moving times,is policy & decisions will be made ‘on the hoof’.
Unfortunately mistakes are going to be made.

There is no blue print for the scenario that this country is facing & dealing with.

All that said.It would have been wise for Gove not to guess or make assumptions when asked questions.

They're all at it, Olds. Why can't they just tell the truth? If the truth is tha they don't know then they should know about something
as important as testing or PPE. If they told the truth I and others wouldn't have to waste time tying to keep them honest.
Stop treating us like we're kids or stupid.

Pandemic exercise Operation Cygnus in 2016 provided opportunity for a blueprint, but the shortfalls were never addressed.

All well and good if you have a smartphone, but not everyone does.

This has been used in China and may be an option in the UK.

I thought boris and the science guy said this virus won’t effect kids but a 12 & 14 year old have died today and a 5 year old is very poorly in hospital, probably more young ones that we don’t yet know about yet.

This is getting worrying now.
They never said that, They said in the main the elderly and people with underlying health conditions were most at risk, The young in the main would escape this with only mild syptoms and the figures have shown this so far to be true, We have no idea why these children sadly died and they will find out when they have post mortems and the other younger healthy people. I do look it at this way, When footballers have died on the pitch or marathon runners die while competing, Those people were considered fit and well but they had a condition that even they didn't know they had until it was too late. Any death is sad and at the moment there are too many sad moments daily and whether those people died of Covid-19 or another thing brought on by Covid-19 only time will tell
