In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
He was a very funny man, His characters were just over the top and totally un PC
Indeed,he was.
The Dick Emery Show was on a Saturday Evening iirc.Along with Mike Yarwood,The Two Ronnies plus Morecambe & Wise,a golden time for Saturday night entertainment for the BBC in 1971 to 1977.

I was surprised to see that he died as long ago as 1983.

Imagine that line up now, Make self isolation a bit better! Is it that long, Nearly 40 years! He was a bit like Benny Hill, Came alive as a character but a very private person who shunned the limelight when not on TV, Think he hated doing interviews as himself

Was PC recognised in those far-off days? Nowadays someone is sat high up in the rocks with telescopic sights just waiting.

In his autobiography, Emery said he was sat in the canteen of a Hollywood film studio when Cary Grant approached him with his tray and asked if he could join him at his table. Apparently when his mother was alive and living in bristol, Cary would watch his show on his mum's TV.
