Interesting to see how that one works out
Probably won't go through with it but will ask for a public apology from Flint. Flint's comment was actually hearsay.

An excellent FT interview with Peter Mandelson : "A Labour defeat was not undeserved". (YouTube).
Really worth viewing. His main points :
1. Corbyn was - 40 rating
2. People didn't believe Labour could fund
it's policies (but the policies themselves were good).
3. No clarity on BREXIT
4. There are 3 possible options regarding future trade rekationships, but Mandelson had no idea which one Johnson will choose/ accept.

For a better idea, check out the video

As opposed to any criticism of "the Great JC" which, even now, is still regarded as heresy?!

Flint has criticised Corbyn : "partly to blame/unpopular on the doorstep - out of touch". Many Labour MPs who lost their seats of course are peed off and pointing the finger at him.

Should've heard Kinnock Jnr on Politics Live today, Mike.

If Flint was smouldering, young Stephen was glowing incandescent! (and he still kept his seat)

Yep. There's all hell to pay. The membership is strong, though, and Corbyn respects them more than he respects his MPs. Can't see how a moderate can be elected as leader. Will there be a new party formed to cater for the centre left ? Disaffected labour + liberals might be interested. Might sound far-fetched, but we're living in strange political times.

I guess the Toryboys will have no comment on this .Years of austerity but still borrowing too much?! MUST BE LABOUR'S FAULT ;

The scope for significant tax cuts in the new government’s budget has been reduced after gloomier predictions for the public finances from the Treasury watchdog showed higher levels of public borrowing and a deterioration in the British economy.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) warned that government borrowing was on course to be about £20bn higher than previously expected in each year to 2023-24, dramatically cutting the government’s room for manoeuvre after Boris Johnson’s election victory.

Mike you are old enough to remember that has been tried before in similar circumstances & more recently to no effect on the electorate.

Going back to Politics Live today, interesting that Corbyn was seen as not patriotic in Labour heartlands.
