Re: Tisdale must go

I hope the Kellow family enjoyed that!
Christ how much longer do we have to put up with this?
The team selection & tactics----does he really want to reach the playoffs
I though the Yeovil match was bad---job to tell which was the Home team.

Rubbish today from start to finish from the tactical maestro. Poor team selection, two subs needed to bring on our two best players and laughable formations.

If he walked away at the end of the season I wouldn't be in the least disappointed.

Or perhaps you would rather we were more like Orient then? A different manager every game and cut adrift at the foot of the table?

Credit is given when credit is due, and criticism is given when criticism is due. You can't be surprised if people are disappointed after yesterday's lame defeat and our recent return to the poor home form. I'm sure Tisdale is not so hyper-sensitive as you: he knows that managers are very well remunerated and must produce the goods. Tisdale has been very lucky to fall into the City job.

Why is that the only other option?

If we don't make the play offs this year the blame will lie solely with tisdale and his stupid team decisions.

It's the only other option Fred because otherwise his argument looks as stupid and sycophantic as it always has done!

Well, I would rather we were a team that can win more than 6 homes games per season, that's for sure.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make when mentioning Orient, perhaps you would like to clarify?

Re: Tisdale must go

Next two games really will define our season. Win both and another three points from the remaining three games should see us in the playoffs. Lose them and even given the lack of consistency in those teams around and immediately below us, we can say goodbye to the playoffs.

I am still trying to make sense of this season. Early games yes we were affected by injuries although without those injured players we were still picking up points away from home. So what do we make of that !!?

Then we go on a near record breaking sequence when everything seemed to go our way. We were starting to get the rub of green with referring decisions and the like and winning well with clean sheets and with a number of three and four goal victories. Every player consistently turning in top class (at least by League Two standards) performances. Tisdale team selections being consistent and unlike in many previous seasons actually picking players which we as supporters would have no argument with.

Then the Argyle game which we lost but it was the manner of the lose a thoroughly mediocre performance where we never looked like getting anything from the game.

This was then followed by another period of inconsistency where we have held on to our playoff position more by the inconsistency shown by our challengers than good performances from ourselves. As we know we have come back from the dead on three occasions in recent games. However the truth is we had deserved to be in those positions either because of our own poor play or the maestro's team selections. The question is given the levels of our overall performance throughout each game did we deserve to save ourselves or was it case of Lady Luck smiling on us.

Not taking anything away from the spirit shown by the team, once the first teamers were on the pitch, there was more than an element of luck to those comebacks. The bottom line being that we are extremely fortunate not to be at least five points worse off than we are.

So which is the real ECFC frankly as good as we were on that run, given the way we have performed either side, it is beginning to look as if for whatever reason it was very much a one off. The real ECFC is probably somewhere in between but as sure as heck it would not be good enough to survive in League One unless we can get some really big bucks for Ollie and spend the money sensibly on bringing in new faces with League One or above pedigree. Returning to the subject of this thread whichever League we are in next season we need to have someone else at the helm whom like the late great Brian Clough recognises that football is basically a simple game and all this nonsense of playing yourself into a game is total hogwash.

Good well laid out post Sexton. I certainly understand your suggestions regarding Citys consistancy. One big concern is this apparent mindset between Perryman and Tisdale where they've both suggested that we're currently playing at our natural level, and that mid table in League 2 should be acceptable. Perryman reiterated this only a few days ago while in the process of bigging up his mate. I'm of the firm belief that PT and SP, and probably JT dont want us to go up. They probably worry that too much money would be required to assemble a team anywhere near good enough for League 1. I doubt if anybody cares much about how we'd manage; we would worry about that if ever we got there.
