Gary Caldwell on Transfers and a Post season Reflection

Gary Caldwell has given the Club’s social mesia team some thoughts on transfers:-

I’ve been looking at and identifying targets since around February. Malcolm and the scouts have been out watching games.

The easy part is identifying, but getting them is the hardest part. You have to agree with the player, and the agent, and then the club, and a lot of things need to fall into place to make it happen.

We are working extremely hard but the supporters need to be patient, I need to be patient and the club needs to be patient. This is a long window and different leagues are at different stages.

Gary also reflected on the 2022/23 season, and how he has seen things since his arrival in October. Again speaking to the social media team Gary had this to say

Since I’ve come in on day one, I’d say we have exceded my expectations in terms of the club I’ve joined and what we are now.

I didn’t expect the support we’ve had and the amount of highs we’ve had. I knew it was going to be a real challenge, but the way the supporters have travelled every week, home and away and packing out this place, that’s what has been the big plus for me.

We’ve come such a long way in my time – it feels like ages ago! For me it was all about understanding the people at the football club and slowly trying to implement my ideas and beliefs on how football should be played. We have a special football club we can be really proud of an it’s my job to push us on to the next level.
