Alex Fisher Departs the Grecians

Exeweb sponsored Alex Fisher has not been offered a new contract by Exeter City and his two years comes at City to an end. We wish him well in his future career.

Matt Taylor said of Alex Fisher:-

At the start of the season we made it clear to Alex that he was behind the likes of Ben Seymour, so he fell down the pecking order. He contributed at times but those moments weren’t enough and didn’t quite get that consistency in his game. He can finish on his day and he’s the kind of player you’d want the ball to drop to in the box, but sadly that wasn’t quite enough for us over the two year period.

Alex Fisher’s starts this past season were limited to just five League 2 starts, with 15 appearances coming from the bench. Just the two goals in those games, a stunning equaliser at Southend and a goal at home to Grimsby Town in game which kept City’s hope’s of a play off alive.

Alex’s equalising goal at Southend United also won goal of the season
