Matt Taylor is the New Exeter City Manager

It’s been a busy day for Exeter City Football Club! Starting with the announcement that Paul Tisdale has left the Club, the Club Board have met and have appointed former Exeter defender Matt Taylor as the new manager.

Matt Taylor came to Exeter via Team Bath and Paul Tisdale at the start of 2007/08 and was almost all present in that season. A former goal keeper he moved to defender early his career. At 6 foot tall he was to prove ideal in the role of defender for Exeter, providing much needed ability and leadership. He quite often was moved up front went Tisdale’s side were chasing a game.

Matt played 163 times for Exeter City in a career spanning four seasons. He scored 21 goals and was an important member of the team that had two successive promotions.

He’s been with Exeter since the start of the season taking on the role of reserve team manager and guided the U23s through several rounds of the Premier League Cup.
