Exeter Issue Statement on use of Pyrotechnics

The Club have issued a statement following incidents at the friendly with Taunton on Tuesday evening.

Exeter City chairman Julian Tagg, said:F

The club has been made aware of the use of smoke pellets from a small minority of travelling fans at Exeter City’s game away at Taunton Town on Tuesday night. The club would like to state on record that it has a zero tolerance of such behaviour and we remind our supporters – as player-coach Danny Butterfield did during the match – of this.

On behalf of the fans, the club would like to apologise to Taunton Town and to any supporter at the game for the disturbance this incident caused. We will also be in touch with the safety officer, both at Taunton Town and Exeter City, regarding the incident.

The Football Supporters Federation has also issued advice to supporters on the use of pyrotechnics and this can be read at Pyro = banning orders, criminal record and clampdowns on fans. Is it worth it?
