The Club have confirmed that this season’s first round Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Portsmouth will take place on Tuesday 1st argyle_homejptSeptember 2015. Kick off will be at 7.45pm. Ticket prices will be announced in due course.

This will be the first of three encounters with the League 2 club, and comes a week after Exeter’s long trip to Sunderland for a League Cup tie. Portsmouth will have played a home tie against Reading in the League Cup.

The last time the Grecians enjoyed a win in the JPT was in 2011 when they beat Plymouth Argyle, at St James Park,  3-0 on penalties in the first round, but then lost 2-1 at home to Swindon in the second round. The 2010/11 season was the most successful, getting all the way to the Area Finals before missing out on a Wembley trip when losing 3-2 on aggregate to Brentford.
