To the surprise of many Exeter fans, Clinton Morrison has again signed for the Grecians. Oddly there was no fanfare or press release. Instead the announcement of the signing was done by including his name in the match day programme. He’s been allocated squad number 13. if fans missed the line in the programme then no doubt they were surprised to hear his name when the Exeter team was announced.
The deal with Clinton is for one month. He made 25 appearances for the Grecians last season and he may not have scored, but he has an ability to hold up play at the front and lay off balls. He demonstrated that yesterday in the game against Yeovil Town. Having received a ball through the centre, he was able to chest the ball, then pass it out to Matt Oakley on the wing, who then delivered the ball out wide to Oakley who delivered the perfect ball to Hoskins in the box, for Hoskins to score the winner on his debut.
Clinton has tweeted this evening:-
I’m only here for a month im not properly fit but I will try and give my all when called upon also thought the lads were brilliant
His return has been met with some mixed reaction, but the overwhelming response from the Big Bank was positive.
