Grecians to visit Swindon in League Cup

Exeter City have been drawn away to League One side Swindon Town in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The Grecians’ match with the Robins will be played on the w/c 10th August.

Paul Tisdale’s men will hope to improve their record in the competition which has seen them win just one of the eight matches played since returning to the Football League in 2008 – that being a 2-0 victory over Yeovil Town to set up the televised tie with Liverpool in 2011.

The two sides have met twice previously in this competition back in 2000, when City lost a home replay 2-1 after drawing 1-1 at the County Ground in what was then the Worthington Cup.

The draw news will no doubt whet the appetite of City fans for the full 2015-16 fixtures, which are released tomorrow at 9am.
