We’ve Played on Valentines Day Before
Valentines Day for Exeter fans means a trip to Fratton Park for a League 2 fixture. Where the fancy of many will turn to thoughts of love on Saturday, the thoughts of football fans will be towards their first love, football! For Exeter fans that will mean the 260 mile round trip to Fratton Park.
While not in the same category as the 1929 murder of seven gangsters in Chicago, Exeter City haven’t had a great record on Valentines Day. We’ve played the 13 times on the 14th February, but have managed to lose 8 of those games, conceding a huge 29 goals and leaking 4 goals 3 times and 5 once. The full record for the Grecians is Played 13, drawn 2, lost 8, scoring 11 and conceding 29.
The most recent game was last season when we lost 2-1 away to Notts County.
