Could Tyler Harvey Revive his Career as a Grecian?

It would appear that the 19-year-old striker, Tyler Harvey is out of favour at Plymouth Argyle. Would the youngster benefit from a move up the A38 to the Grecians who have a reputation for reviving footballing careers, noticeably Craig Noone from Argyle during Tisdale’s reign.

He made his debut back in November 2012 coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Bradford City. He went on to make 11 appearances for the first team, scoring one goal. He also appeared, that season, against Exeter City in Devon Bowl and scored a goal, as he is apt to do. Last season he made 25 appearances for Argyle and 3 while on loan to Salisbury, scoring twice in total. He also scored from an excellent free-kick against Exeter back in August at Home Park.

The Argyle boss has converted him to midfield last season, and his goal tally has suffered accordingly. Tyler doesn’t seem to be much in Sheridan’s thoughts at the moment, though he struck twice yesterday against Pompey in a development match. He’s out of contract in the summer, so a loan now with a view to signing a permanent deal in the summer.

While Exeter, have a number of forwards, and Jamie Reid should soon be back in contention, the lack of goals have at times been an obstacle to converting possession in to 3 points. Tyler Harvey could be the link man to Tom Nichols, or the foil to Cummins or Morrison. He attracted a lot of attention as a youth player from Championship and Premier League Clubs, he’s technically gifted and enjoys working with the ball.

All in all, a player that would boost the squad, and aid City chances of reaching a play off place.
