Swansea City Sign Exeter’s Matt Grimes

As had been largely speculated in recent weeks, it has been confirmed that Matt Grimes has signed for English Premier League side Swansea City. The fee is understood to be in the region of £1.75m with a sell-on clause.

Matt Grimes has been part of the academy set-up and was the captain of the successful under-18s side. Grimes made his debut for Exeter City’s first team in August 2013 in a 2-0 win over Wimbledon. This season also saw Matt Grimes begin his international career with England Under 20s.

The 19 year-old has now played 64 times for the Grecians, scoring 5 goals.
